I am honored to have been chosen to be part of a global outreach program with the Liddle Kidz Foundation. We began in Mumbai and then continued working in Varanasi, Jaipur and New Delhi. We provided massage to children living in orphanages and other group homes. Most importantly, we taught parents and caregivers massage techniques so that they may continue to provide massage for the children they care for after we'd gone.
Many studies have shown that nurturing touch is essential for healthy development in all children. By demonstrating techniques of massage and nurturing touch that are appropriate for children we empowered everyone we worked with important tools to improve the health and well being of children.
This was my first volunteer experience ever. Words can not begin to describe the whirlwind of emotions and experiences I had during this trip. I'm forever changed by this trip and have a new found love for India and her beautiful people. I hope to be able to return sometime in the not too distant future.
I had made items to sell to help raise money for my travel costs and I had so much fun making them I decided to keep doing it! I have created a page called "shop" under the "More" tab. You can go there and see pictures and and descriptions of everything I make.
I will be selling them at the Ballston Spa Farmer's Market and at my two office locations. You can contact me through email at if you're interested in purchasing something.
